Power

The excavation hardware will need to have one of these. It is a Neutrik PowerCon® connector.

Pin-out:

• Positive DC voltage will be provide on the Live (L) terminal
• Negative DC voltage will be provide on the Ground (PE) terminal
• The third Neutral (N) will remain unconnected. Future possibilities for data feedback are being considered.

The Power Source will be a constant voltage source and the amount of current provided to the excavation hardware will be limited by a fuse (as described in the rules).

There will be an umbilical suspended from above the center of the sandbox. A system is being considered for regulating the tension in the power cable in order to prevent the power cable from dragging in the Sandbox.
