We are pleased to announce today that the 2008 Regolith Excavation Challenge will take place August 2 and 3, 2008 in the Engineering Plaza on the campus of California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. We would like to thank the Cal Poly College of Engineering for their efforts to make this a reality.

In addition, we have decided to extend the "Early Bird" registration deadline back by two weeks to January 15. This is to allow extra time for teams that may have been waiting for this announcement before registering.

Can you provide JSC-1A samples to registered teams?

Can you help our team get sponsors?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide this service. It would be virtually impossible for us to maintain impartiality.

Is US Citizenship a requirement for participation?

According to the Team Agreement, the Team Leader, if an individual, must be a US citizen or permanent resident of the US. If a company, must have its primary place of business in the US. Team Members must also meet the same criteria. The team is not required to pass these requirements down to sponsors or contractors who are not team leaders nor team members.

Is one individual allowed to register more than once?

Team Registration Open!

During the Transforming Space 2007 Conference today, following a keynote address by the Honorable Shana Dale, Ken Davidian announced the opening of team registration for the 2008 Regolith Excavation Challenge and also the opening of a $1M prize for the 2008 MoonROx Challenge. The 2008 Regolith Excavation Challenge will take place during the Summer of 2008. CSEWI is currently in negotiations with California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo in order to conduct the competition on campus.
